Make sure to practice the 3 R’s – Reduce, Reuse and Recycle – EVERY DAY to help preserve and protect our fragile surroundings. Environmental problems have become so complex that many people think there’s nothing they can do to make a difference – but there is! If we all pitch in, we’ll save natural resources and energy, and keep the Antelope Valley looking beautiful.

We strongly encourage you to participate each week by placing all acceptable recycling materials in your designated recycling cart and place it curbside on your regularly scheduled service day.

REDUCE: the amount of garbage you create.

REUSE: still functioning products.

RECYCLE: the items by donating or selling them to someone or a local organization.

Here are some examples of recyclable materials that can go in your recycling cart:
  • Aluminum cans, plastic bottles (labeled #1-7), glass, metal food containers and scrap metal, newspaper and office paper, cardboard, magazines and telephone books.
NON-Acceptable materials that CANNOT be recycled include:
  • Hazardous waste materials (batteries, tires, oil, paint, anti-freeze, etc.), electronic waste (televisions, computers, cell phones, etc.), grass and other yard waste (this goes in your greenwaste cart), rocks, horse manure, napkins, pizza boxes and gift wrap.
