June was a great month for landfill supervisor, Nicholas Godfrey, who celebrated three years with Waste Management and celebrated his first Father’s Day as dad to his son Ronan, born earlier in the year.
Originally from Canada, Nicholas completed his degree in Environmental Sciences from the University of British Columbia and soon moved to California where he currently lives in Rancho Cucamonga with his son and wife, Rachel.
Nick was first hired as El Sobrante Landfill’s Environmental Protection Officer and recently moved into operations as a Landfill Supervisor. Last year, Nicholas was selected to join Waste Management’s District Management team in training – an intensive eight-month course that teaches the best environmental and operational practices available in waste management.
Nicholas also participated in the Waste Management team that helped us earned the “Climate Action Leader” recognition.
While growing up, Nicholas had the opportunity to travel extensively with his family and spent several summers living in Hong Kong and New Zealand. He has also traveled to China, Thailand, across the United States and Canada.
He is an avid snowboarder and keen to any outdoor activities- but now, his best pastime is spending time with his son.
