Dear Friends,
We hope you are enjoying the holiday season. Did you know Americans throw away 25 percent more trash between Thanksgiving and New Year's? The extra waste amounts to about 1 million extra tons per week. We've included some tips to help you reduce, reuse and recycle this holiday season.
We don't want the year to end without acknowledging three very important employees at El Sobrante Landfill: Dave Davis, Tom Rosales, Raul Perez each have been instrumental to the operations of El Sobrante for 20 years.
We also want to acknowledge one of our Temescal Valley neighbors, the Glen Ivy community, for their commitment to being strong stewards of the environment. Glen Ivy operates two solar panels on its property and sells the electricity that it generates back to the local grid.
On behalf of all of us at El Sobrante, thank you for your support and happy
holidays!
Best,
Damon De Frates District Manager
El Sobrante Landfill
