We would like to express our condolences to the family and friends of Orange Councilmember Steven Ambriz. We were shocked and saddened to hear of his passing on May 25 – as a lifelong member of the Orange community, a leader, an advocate and an active volunteer, Councilmember Ambriz made countless contributions to the city and surrounding communities. This is a tremendous loss for our community.
We were fortunate to have the opportunity to work with Councilmember Ambriz during his tenure on the council and in our work with the City of Orange during the last several years. Along with the leaders and residents of the City of Orange and the many others touched by Councilmember Ambriz’s work, we celebrate his life and his accomplishments, and mourn this loss.
Assemblyman Todd Spitzer has established a scholarship fund for the daughter of Councilmember Ambriz and his wife, Bridget. Donations can be sent to the “Kaitlyn Ambriz Scholarship Fund” at 1940 N. Tustin Ave., Suite 103, Orange, CA 92865. Waste Management of Orange County has made a donation of $1,000 in honor of Councilmember Ambriz’s contributions to our community.
